Pumpkin - Jack Be Little

Adorable, miniature pumpkins.

Sow mid spring singly 6mm deep in 7.5mm pots of good compost. Germination usually takes 3-12 days at 20-24C (70-75F). Harden off before planting out after all risk of frost, leaving about 1m between plant.

Pinch out growing tips of main shoots to encourage fruit bearing laterals. Water freely particularly in dry spells. Pollinate by dusting the female flowers with pollen is helpful.

Female flowers have a little green fruit just behind the flower. Pick fruits regularly while young to encourage better fruiting.

In the autumn harvest remaining pumpkins and store in a dry airy frost free place until required.
