Lettuce - Black Seeded Simpson

A large, crunchy lettuce, which can also be harvested as baby leaves.

For early crops sow from January to March in modules, lightly covering the seed. Pot on when large enough to handle and grow on under protection. Plant outside after last frost.

For successional crops, direct sow into the ground in small batches every 2-3 weeks from February to early September.

Water the drill before sowing when sowing in the warmer months and grow under protection from September to March.

Give plants plenty of water, but not too much sun.
