As if it wasn't exciting enough to find that our local WH Smith now stocks Marie Claire Idees, I've been very lucky to have some of my projects featured on the Marie Claire website.
They loved the idea of sweet peas in tetra paks and have shown their readers how to create their own, as well as sharing the pattern for the mini crochet granny triangle garland, a very quick and simple project which can brighten up a corner of your home or garden in no time at all.
It's incredibly easy to do, so here are the instructions in English if you'd like to give it a go:
For a row of bunting approx 130cm with 10 flags:
Use a crochet hook size 3.5
ch 4, join with sl st to make a ring
ch 2, 2dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch2 then join to top of first chain with sl st
sl st to next gap.
ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2 skip to next gap 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, skip to next gap 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, join with sl st to top of first chain. Cast off, sew in the ends.
Make 9 more in your favourite colours.
Crochet a chain approx 150cm long, Leave a long end for tying. Tie a loose single knot through each of 2 points of the 10 triangles leaving about 5cm in between each one. Leave the knots loose so that you can adjust as you go along.
Thank you to AnneKo of the gorgeous Petits Pixels
blog for translating the pattern into french for me.
